Your Pain Purifies You

A scene from a dream: letting go of the umbrella to let the rain extinguish the fire (pain, hurt, despair) and release/let go of the dragon (rage, shame, addiction) being kept inside. Through this image, and the process of Dream Interpretation, the artist gained clarity - to allow and acknowledge their pain, so they could heal from it and let go of their suffering.

Often our dreams allow us to process and work through things that our conscious mind might be avoiding. When we push past an uncomfotable thought, or avoid difficult conversations or situations, our brain is still working to piece together what we are experiencing, whether conscious or not. When working in Dream Interpretation, we take a guided journey through writing and art making to understand what was being processed by the unconscious mind. Following sharing of the written version of the dream, the artist/dreamer creates an image of a scene (or scenes) from the dream. We work together to process the symbols contained in the dream and in the image, to gain clarity and to grasp what the unconscious mind already understands.
